Discovery Child Development Center

Discovery is a multi-age child development center for children from 6 weeks of age through completion of kindergarten.
There are three classrooms within the center:
The Infant Room

Each classroom is set up to meet the developmental needs of the age group.
The Center is designed as a child care center with child-sized bathrooms, observation windows, two outdoor play yards, a full-sized kitchen, an air exchange system, heated floors, and air conditioning.
Infants follow their own schedule for eating and sleeping. Staff provide one-on-one interaction and activities to foster development. Toddlers and preschoolers have a consistent routine for meals, rest-time, and activities. There is a balance of active and quiet play, plus group play and individual activities. Toddler activities focus on language development and social interaction. Preschool activities focus on readiness and socialization.
The Center participates in various Penn State and community programs and research projects. The children go on community excursions and attend community events on a regular basis.
Parents are welcome to join their children for special activities and to drop by as their schedule permits.
